I woke up frustrated today because my sleep was disturbed by thoughts of all the articles I had to submit before nightfall.
Then I thought to myself, Isn’t it Saturday anymore?
Saturdays used to be fun days—the best day of the week. It was a day I looked forward to as a kid.
Saturdays are supposed to be for resting or bonding with your friends and family. But these days, it’s just like Monday. You wake up to your boss’s message and the different tasks you have to complete ASAP.
Saturdays used to be for Owambes, but “2020 Pro Max” ruined that. I’m not a party person but I enjoyed seeing pictures of people who slew Owambes.
I don’t know if it’s adulthood or if the world has become very boring. Take me back to those days, please 😢😢😢
Writing this made me emotional. I know I’m a crybaby, but who wouldn’t cry when they remember some sweet childhood memories?
Let’s cry together😄
If you are a Nigerian or Yoruba, do you remember those days of Akara and Pap on Saturday mornings and Pounded Yam and Egusi on Sundays, after church?
Do you remember how you looked forward to going to Mr. Biggs on your birthday?
Do you remember sitting outside with your parents at night to count the stars?
Ok, I should leave before I start crying for real
Let’s bring back our Saturdays.
